Hot Chocolate has been awarded two blue ribbons and a red ribbon at the recent Society of American Florist
Outstanding Varieties Competition.

The competition - part of the SAF's 124th annual convention in Palm Beach, Florida - showcases the industry's most exciting flowers, foliage and plants.

This year's competition featured 331 entries from 36 companies. Entries were judged based on a point scale of 100:

• Best in Show goes to the highest-scoring entry,
• Best in Class awards the highest-scoring entry in each category,
• Blue Ribbon entries score 85 to 100,
• Red Ribbon entries earn 69 to 84
  
• White Ribbon entries gather 45 to 68 points.

The flowers were entered by Esmeralda Farms Inc, Transflora California (blue ribbons) and Sole Farms (red ribbon).
